Eleanor HIGGINBOTHAM and Lindsey HIGGINBOTHAM were married on 8 December 1817. Lindsey HIGGINBOTHAM78, son of Joseph HIGGINBOTHAM and Frances HIGGINBOTHAM, was born about 1794 in Elbert County, Georgia.41 He served in the military in 1812 at 10th & 20th Consolidated Regt, LA Militia in War of 1812. He died on 13 October 1865 at the age of 71 in Rusk County, Texas.41
Moved to Feliciana Parish LA about 1811 along with family. Willis, his brother, Lindsey and cousins, served in the 10th & 20th Consolidated Regt., DeClouet's Regt Louisiana Militia, War of 1812.
Lindsey married Nelly Higginbotham, 22 Dec 1817, West Feliciana Parish, his first cousin once removed. This family moved to Indian lands in MS in 1829. In 1835 they moved into Chickasaw Indian Territory and settled in what became Yalobusha Co. In 1848 along with their married children the entire family moved to Rusk Co TX.
