Mr. Ganie Dillard and Miss Ora Fry were married by T. J. Pyle, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Fannin Co TX. W. A. Thomas was the Court Clerk - is this the same W. A. Thomas, first cousin of Elizabeth (Holderness) Haden?; he later worked for the IRS in Dallas.

Viola "Ola" FRY and William Lee "Gainey" DILLARD were married on 7 November 1909 in Fannin County, Texas.99 William Lee "Gainey" DILLARD111,151,152, son of Newton William DILLARD and Francis Dortha APPLE, was born on 9 October 1889 in Smith County, Tennessee.153 He died on 15 February 1970 at the age of 80 in Mesquite, Dallas County, Texas.

1930 Census. Ladonia Town, Kean Street, household #25. William L. Dillard, age 40, age 20 when married, b. TN as were his parents. Farmer. Vilo, wife, age 36, b. TX; her mother b. TN, her father b. TX [neither parent's place of birth is correct] Ruby age 18.

W. L. Dillard, owns his home worth $400 on Commerce St. He was 50, b. in TN. They lived in Ladonia in 1935, but not the same house. He was a ginner at the Cotton Gin, making $600 a year.

Charlene Parks got a reply from Ruby Huffines in a nursing home which said Gainey had died in 1970.

From Death Certificate. William Lee Dillard was born 9 Oct 1889 in Tennessee and died 15 Feb 1970. Mrs. W. L. Dillard, widow, was the Informant. He died of peritonitis from a ruptured diverticulum at Mesquite Memorial Hospital in Mesquite, where he had been for two weeks prior to his death. His usual residence was in Ladonia, TX. He was a retired cotton ginner. His father was Newton Dillard; his mother Frances A. Apple. He was buried at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Ladonia.
