10. Robert HIGGINBOTHAM29 was born about 1752 in Amherst County, Virginia.8 He died in October 1825 at the age of 73 in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama.8

Robert and James Moses founght in the Revolution under Col. William Campbell at Kings Mountain and the Guilford Courthouse.
Moved to Washington Co VA - later this area became Tazewell ca 1780.
In the fall of 1814, the Higginbothams, Garrisons, Blankenships, moved to Mississippi Territory,later to be Madison Co AL.

Robert HIGGINBOTHAM and Nancy BLANKENSHIP were married about 1780.29 Nancy BLANKENSHIP29 died in 1842 in Alabama.29

Nancy remained in the home near Hazel Green AL after Robert died. She stayed until about 1832 when she moved to Jackson Co where most of the older children had settled.

Charles HIGGINBOTHAM29 was born in 1783.30 He died in 1823 at the age of 40.29

First in the family to apply for land in Madison Co AL. He is listed there as a taxpayer in 1810, although the family did not move until 1814.
Will dated 13 Sep 1823, probated in Madison Co AL 13 Jan 1824. Millie and her sons appear to be the only Higginbothams that remained in Madison Co.

Frances HIGGINBOTHAM29 was born in 1787 in Washington Co, Virginia.29

This family moved to Madison Co AL in 1814.



Mary Ann HIGGINBOTHAM was born about 1792.29 She died in August 1822 at the age of 30 in Madison County, Alabama.29

Mary Ann married Henry Bolling, 19 Dec 1809, Tazewell Co VA. They had children Bailey, Eleanor, Charles and Robert.

Jane HIGGINBOTHAM29 was born about 1795 in Russell County, Virginia.29

This family moved on to Jackson Co AL about 1831.



Robert Barkley HIGGINBOTHAM31 was born on 5 November 1798.29 He died about 1879 at the age of 81.29

Robert was about 16 when the family moved to Madison County, AL. Later lived in Blount Co. Robert may have married for a second time late in life to Rachael Milan, on 31 Oct 1873 as there is a widow, Rachill Higginbotham, age 71, in the 1880 Census.

James Riley HIGGINBOTHAM32 was born about 1800.29 He died about 1848 at the age of 48.29

Shortly after his marriage, James moved to Jackson Co AL. Rebecca's father probated his estate; Rebecca apparently died soon after James as the children grew up in the household of their grandparents.



Moses HIGGINBOTHAM33 was born about 1803.29 He died about 1855 at the age of 52.29

This is another of the families that moved to Jackson Co AL. He spent the rest of his life there.



John Green HIGGINBOTHAM34 was born on 4 October 1804.29 He died on 15 September 1894 at the age of 89 in Mississippi.29

Moved to Jackson Co AL ca 1831. All but the oldest daughter were born in Jackson Co. By 1850 they lived in Marengo Co AL and then moved to Lafayette Co MS.



Benjamin Isaac HIGGINBOTHAM35 was born about 1806.29 He died about 1884 at the age of 78.29

Benjamin was about 7 years old when the family moved to Madison Co AL; his father died when he was about 18. He moved on to Franklin County, TN where he married. After the heirs sold his father's estate in AL in 1836, Benjamin bought a tract of land in Franklin Co TN - but sold it a few months later. His family did live in Franklin Co for the remainder of their lives.



Edmond HIGGINBOTHAM36 was born on 9 October 1808.29 He died on 17 July 1877 at the age of 68.29

By 1840 Edmond and Martha were in Jackson Co AL. About 1847 he and his older brother John left Jackson. By 1850, Edmond was living in Perry Co AL; John in Marengo Co. Both families moved to Lafayette Co MS ca 1851 where they lived out most of their lives. Edmond moved to Clay Co by 1874 and likely died there.



Henry HIGGINBOTHAM was born about 1813 in Madison County, Alabama.29 He died about 1862 at the age of 49.29

Moved to Tishomingo Co MS after the second marriage where they are found on the 1850 census, but they moved back to Blount Co. Oldest son William moved to Pulaski Co AR ca 1862, and Henry & Rebecca and other members of the family soon followed.
