Rebecca\Rhoda HADEN and William Jordan MORTON Jr. were married on 2 December 1805.1,326 William Jordan MORTON Jr.92,327, son of William Jordan MORTON and Martha PRYOR, was born on 9 September 1786 in Louisa County, Virginia.43 He died on 16 March 1860 at the age of 73 in Logan County, Kentucky. The "Morton Data" book lists William Jordan Morton who married (1) Rebecca Haden, (2) Louisa McCormick and (3) Clarissa McClellan. "John Haden of VA" book states that Rebecca Haden, probably the "Rhode" listed in the Douglas Register, married a Mr. Morton and moved to Kentucky. In Joseph Haden's estate settlement - 1821, his daughter Rebecca is named as Rebecca Moreton [dec'd] and these five children are listed as heirs. 3 May 1824 Logan Co DB M, p.274. William J. William Jordon Morton Jr. moved to Kentucky in 1810. After taking a course in legal studies, practiced law for a great many years. He was a very public spirited man, progressive in his ideas, and was a leader in the old Whig party. After serving as postmaster of Russellville for several terms, was elected county attorney of Logan Co., Kentucky in 1836, and held that office many years; served his district in the Legislature at one time; in 1854 was appointed Judge of the Logan County Court; was deeply interested in religion and frequently preached the gospel in the Baptist Church of Russellville, also at the Liberty and Friendship Churches in Logan County.
