James Churchill BLAKEY1058 was born on 4 September 1904 in Beattyville, Lee County, Kentucky. James Churchill Blakey was certified as a member of SAR, Alabama Society, in March of 1954, National number 78083. His application was based on the service of his ancestor George Blakey. He was a lawyer, living in Birmingham, AL. He would also have been eligible through his great-grandmother, Ann Haden Whitsitt, who was a granddaughter of William Haden, who had served as Ensign and Lt. in the Fluvanna Co VA militia. His application is one of the few I've reviewed that appears to be basically correct. James was married to Mamie Lyon, born 6 Mar 1908. They had married 27 Jun 1933. He listed the following children: Churchill Lyon Blakey, b. 6 Jul 1839 Betty Beach Blakey, b. 11 Nov 1947 Their residence was Norman Drive, Birmingham.
