759. Henry Horace HADEN was born on 27 November 1859 in Desoto Parish, Louisiana. He died on 21 December 1939 at the age of 80 in Cherokee County, Texas.

By the age of 15, Henry was orphaned. He may have followed some of his Shelley uncles to Texas.

Henry H. Haden of Mt. Selman, Cherokee Co, TX died 21 Dec 1939. He was married. Birth given as Nov 27th, without the year; he was 70 at his death. He was born in Lousiana. He died of chronic Brights disease and heart disease. Father was Geo. G. Haden, mother was Mary C. Shelley, both said born in Alabama. W. F. Haden was the informant. He was buried at Tyler, TX, cemetery not named; Geo. Williamson of Jacksonville, TX was undertaker.

Horace and Ellen and two of their children are buried Oakwood Cemetery, Smith Co, TX.

He has been elusive in the censuses. I suspect there were other children. I believe he remarried after the death of Ellen in 1894. In 1920, he was living with son George, as "father" and the "mother" listed is Emma M. Haden, age 45, born in Michigan.

Henry Horace HADEN and Ellen DOUGLAS were married on 18 January 1881 in Cherokee County, Texas. Ellen DOUGLAS was born on 13 August 1863. She died on 19 February 1894 at the age of 30 in Smith County, Texas.

His residence was 1724 Avenue K. He was widowed. Father listed as Henry Horace Hade, mother as Ellen Douglas. He died of carcinoma of the bladder; had been ill for 11 months. His daughter Mary Edna Haden was the informant. buried Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Galveston Co, TX. If George is buried Galveston Memorial Park, his grave may have been unmarked - he can't be found at FindAGrave.com. Old City Cemetery seems to be part of the same cemetery and there are some graves for Bautsch, but the one for a Bertha Wilhelmina Bautsch is not the grandmother of Edna Offer Haden. Texas Death Certificate #55994 Edna O. Haden (Mrs. G. D. Haden) died 9 Oct 1958. Her residence was 2011 Avenue K; she had lived in Galveston all her life. She was married and the informant was Mr. G. D. Haden, husband. Edna was born 10 Aug 1885 and died 9 Oct 1958 at age 73. She died of heart disease. Father was Frank Offer; mother was Mary Bautsch. She was buried Galveston Memorial Park. Texas Death Certificate #12562 Mrs. Wilhelmine Bautsch of Galveston, 2011 Street K. Says she had lived in the city for 77 years. Born 9 Jan 1844, she was 90 when she died 3 Mar 1934. She was widowed but had been the wife of Henry Bautsch. She was born in Germany, the daughter of Henry and Mary VordenBaumen. The informant was G. D. Haden of 211 Avenue K. She died of chronic heart problems. No cemetery information given.
