997. Bettie Douglas HADEN⁵²¹ was born on 17 June 1848.^10,244 She died on 20 March 1928 at the age of 79.

Wrote a letter about the family to Sarah Pugh Haden. The letter is undated but signed "Aunt Bet". She died 1928 so the letter certainly written prior to that year. The letter is now [2009] in the hands of a granddaughter of Sarah Pugh Haden.

Bettie Douglas HADEN and John Overton HADEN were married on 25 August 1867.¹⁰ John Overton HADEN²⁴³, son of Benjamin James HADEN and Louisa Ann MASSIE, was born on 15 October 1843.^10,522 He died on 26 May 1919 at the age of 75.

Served in Fluvanna's Massie Battery of artillery in the Confederate Army.

John Haden, aged 75, first cousin of Mayor E. G. Haden, this city, died yesterday at his country home near Palmyra, Fluvanna County. The funeral was held today at his late home. He served four years in the Confederate army. He is survived by his wife, one son and four daughters - H. Clay Haden, Mrs. C. E. Taylor, and Misses Bettie E., Bertha D. and Mattie Haden.
