414. Aurora DeGosma PROCTOR92,454,567,568,569 was born on 11 September 1804.113,570,571 She died after 1860 at the age of 56 in Madison County, Mississippi.85

The Ancestral File gives Aurora the middle name of "DeGosma" - not proved by any other source, except the 1850 census does give her name as Aurora D. Hoy.

Married William Hoy 2 Jan 1822 in Madison County, Mississippi. [This place of marriage is incorrect - Madison Co wasn't formed in 1822 and the births of children show none were born in Mississippi until after 1830.] He was born 25 Sep 1794 in Bourbon County KY; died 30 June 1846 Madison County MS. Their children were Mary Amanda, M. F., Sarah A., Thomas Proctor, Elizabeth, William, Phillip Bush, and Aurora

Aurora DeGosma PROCTOR and William HOY were married on 2 January 1822 in Madison County, Mississippi.571 William HOY254, son of Thomas HOY and Susannah BUSH, was born on 25 September 1794 in Bourbon County, Kentucky.571 He died on 30 June 1846 at the age of 51 in Madison County, Mississippi.571
In the Equity Case, 14-303, of William & Nancy Porter vs. the Heirs of William Haden, dec'd, the complainants asked that each of the heirs respond with a statement of the value of all advancements they had received from William Haden in his lifetime. The only response is the following:
William Hoy & Aurora Proctor Hoy did make a answer to the above suit on 5 May 1824, stating that they would agree to bring in all advancements made to her mother, Sally Haden Proctor or to her husband Thomas during the eight years after their marriage. [Presumbably Sally & Thomas were married for eight years before she died.] Aurora did state that she was entitled to one-third of her mother's share, but did not mention her sisters in this document. They stated her parents had received about $300 in gifts of money, a colt, and a woman's saddle. The three heirs of Sally had received three slaves in the division which William Hoy now had on hire from Thomas Proctor. They were also to have received some money from other heirs, but had not. Hoy swore on his oath before Cardwell Breathitt, JP, on 4 May 1824.

1840 Census: William Hoy in Madison Co MS. p.216

1841 Census. Madison Co MS
Ellen Comfort - 5 males, 3 females, 1 voter [but looks rubbed out?]
William Hoy - 4 males, 5 females, 1 voter
Ellen and William's wife were first cousins.

The 1850 census, after William's death, shows young William as born in Kentucky circa 1829. I didn't find them in the Mississippi census in 1830. The 1860 census shows Phillip as born about 1832/33 in Mississippi, so the family moved between 1830-1832.
