After the death of their parents, William & Sarah were sent back to Fluvanna Co VA and raised by their unmarried aunt, Peggy Haden.
Some evidence indicates that William and his sister Sarah Jane returned to Virginia with their cousin George Lane. George Lane was his wife's older brother.
William George and Sarah are first cousins. No children.
In the 1850 Census, Fluvanna Co VA, Sarah J. age 33, presumably William's sister, is living with William G. and his wife, Sarah R., both age 29. Household 724.

Wm. G. Haden [filed with Wm. D. Haden] is found in the Confederate Papers Relating to Citizens or Business Firms, 1861-65, NARA M346. Known as the "Citizens File," digital images on Fold3.com. He was paid $130 for a gray horse, seven years old, sold to the Confederate Army, warranted to be sound, 9 Aug 1861.
