Died in Jackson, TN on 1 Feb 1862, Col. David S. Comfort of 3rd Regt MS Volunteers. Col. Comfort was born in Logan Co KY on May 2 1797 [this is an error - born 1827; the Comforts were not in Logan Co that early]. and moved with his parents at an early age to Madison Co MS. When he attained mature age he settled at Koscuisko where practiced the profession of law for several years but afterwards engaged in the mercantile business. He fell victim to a malignant fever while commanding his regiment near Columbus, KY. His mortal remains brought to Kosciusko. David Samuel COMFORT and Martha C. WHITE were married.982 Martha C. WHITE was born on 11 August 1834 in Georgia.982 She died on 13 May 1899 at the age of 64 in Kosciusko, Attala County, Mississippi. Martha is buried, Kosciusko City Cemetery.
