On 3 Apr 1797, Benjamin & Catherine Fry sold to Isaac Hite three tracts totalling 233 acres. The date of death usually cited as 20 Jun 1813 is incorrect. Note dates of will and when it was proved below. Shelby Co Will Book 3, p.46 "The Frontiersmen" by Allan W. Eckert, p.334. States that Benjamin Fry came with Rev. William Wood, a Baptist preacher, and the family of James Turner in1784. They arrived at Kenton's settlement and laid out a town they named Washington. It is probable that the name is wrong, as his brother William Fry probably came with William Wood, and Benjamin did not come out until later. Benjamin FRYE Jr. and Catherine [FRYE] were married in 1751 in Frederick County, Virginia.33 Catherine [FRYE]19 was born (date unknown).
