I expect Benjamin Fox was deceased prior to 1833; earlier than 1846 suggested by others. Elizabeth Fox entered land that year, probably indicating her status as a widow.

Dear Pat: My Anderson line begins with Elizabeth Anderson, daughter of Bartlett Anderson and Frances Dickerson/Dickenson. Elizabeth was born ca 1776 in Botetourt Co., VA, and died after 1846 in Jackson Co., TN. She married Benjamin Fox 20 August 1799 in Botetourt Co., VA. Her parents were married 10 April 1770 in Louisa Co., VA. These facts are documented. I believe her father is the Bartlett Anderson who died 18 Oct 1787, but I really don't know which Bartlett Anderson he was. Her mother was the daughter of Griffith Dickerson, but which one? Do you have anything that would signify which Bartlett Anderson and which Griffith Dickerson go with this line? Thanks very much. Lora Tindall

The marriage Bond of Bartlett Anderson and Frances Dickinson, states that her father was Griffith Dickson. Witnesses: John Watson, Hickason Cosby Dickson, Robert Dickason, John Hawkins, Jr.

Benjamin FOX14 was born about 1813 in Jackson County, Tennessee.6

Benjamin was not found in the 1850 Census unless his age is 10 years off. There was no widow Fox of proper age. The divorce papers of Sarah Ann Fox & Miles Dennis suggest eight heirs of their father Benjamin indicated that at least one of his children was deceased [There were 8 by Elizabeth Anderson, one child by Nancy Norvell.] This Benjamin likely died as a child or young adult.
