36. Bartlett Anderson FOX¹⁶ was born on 19 December 1806 in Jackson County, Tennessee.⁶ He died on 14 February 1873 at the age of 66 in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee.⁶

1850, Dist 11, Jackson Co TN, p.288b, Household 735. Bartlett A. Fox age 44, Farmer, b. TN. Miriam, age 43, b. VA, Paralee 21, Rhoda 17, Uriah 15, Miriam 13, Deliler 11, Benjamine 9, Julian 7, and Meradeth 4. Blake Thackston age 15 was also living there, helping with the farming.

In 1860, he was listed as Anderson Fox, age 52. Too many Bartletts in the area. Mary, age 32. doesn't seem to be either his first wife, nor daughter Miriam. Benjamin was listed as 17, Delilah as 20, and Meredith, age 12.

Bartlett Anderson FOX and Miriam Payne BASSHAM were married on 23 May 1826 in Jackson County, Tennessee.⁶ Miriam Payne BASSHAM, daughter of Uriah BASSHAM and Rhoda SIMMONS, was born in 1807 in Virginia. She died on 30 August 1875 at the age of 68 in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee.²⁰

Millie Ann FOX^6,16 was born on 16 April 1827 in Jackson County, Tennessee.⁶
In 1850, Millie was already married to Abner Porter. They were living in the midst of the other Fox families. Abner was 27, Milly 23, William & Benjamin were both 3, presumably twins, Alexander age 2, and Elizabeth age 1. They lived next door to William Porter, age 60 & b. in NC, whose wife was Ruth age 52, and seven young adults and children. William is likely Abner's father. The surname was spelled "Poter" in this census.
By 1860, Abner & Millie's family had changed. Benjamin age 13 was there, and Elizabeth age 11 - apparently William & Alexander had died. Amanda was age 7. William Fox age 22 was living with them doing day labor.

Benjamin Bartlett FOX^6,21,22,23 was born on 23 February 1840 in Jackson County, Tennessee.⁶ He died on 28 October 1924 at the age of 84.⁶
Benjamin married Malinda Elizabeth Chaffin about 1860.
His death certificate gives his parents as Anderson Fox and Myram Bassham. He was a widower at the time he died. He died of heart failure at age 84. He is buried Fox Cemetery in Jackson Co.
They had a son, Merida Wilson Fox who never married. He died 7 Aug 1936 at age 54 years, 8 months, 4 days - which calculates to a birth of about 3 Dec 1881. He had tuberculosis of the throat. His parents are listed as B. Bart Fox and Malinda E. Chaffin.
Another son was Ben Anderson Fox, born about 1867, who died 27 Jan 1939. He was a preacher and listed as married at the time of his death. Mandy Fox was the informant. He was found dead and believed to have died of heart disease. Parents given as Barth Fox and Lindy Chaffin. He was buried Smyrna Cemetery in Putnam Co. TN
