601. John Russell COMSTOCK^205,206 was born on 15 April 1807 in New York.²⁰⁵ He died on 26 July 1889 at the age of 82.^205,206

John was an orchardist and established a large nursery on property owned by his father. He had orchards of apples, pears, peaches, as well as vineyards and planting of berries, currants, and flowers. He had pink and white magnolias and rhododendrons. He called his home "Floral Hill"; it was built in the shape of an octagon. The builder also constructed a chain of four ponds with a windmill to provide water for the nurseries.
Will proved Aug 22 1889 left all of property to wife Minerva, and at her death to niece Anna Mary S. Sutton.

John Russell COMSTOCK and Minerva INGRAHAM were married on 5 January 1845.²⁰⁶ Minerva INGRAHAM was born circa 1807 in New York.

I found an obituary in the Fayetteville Daily Democrat, dated 8 Aug 1930:
Mrs. M. Comstock Dies at County Home.
Mrs. Minerva Comstock died this morning about 5 o'clock at the county Home.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Fayetteville Funeral Home with Rev. J. M. Asbell in charge. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Comstock was a native Arkansas and thought to be 99 years old. A nephew, Willie Jones, of Fayetteville, is the only relative known.

In the 1930 census, Manerva Comstock was listed in Washington Co, AR as an inmate in the County Home, age 98, born Arkansas. There were five William Joneses in Washington Co who could have been nephews, or great nephews.
