Matthew COMSTOCK¹⁹⁵ was born on 10 July 1767.¹³⁷ He died on 26 February 1831 at the age of 63.¹³⁷ Will of Matthew Comstock of Washington, Dutchess Co NY proved Apr 4, 1831 forgives $3000 to sons Job S. and Russell; 100 acres and dwelling to wife; rest to children Phebe, John and Elizabeth. Ruth, widow, and son John executors.

Matthew COMSTOCK and Ruth RUSSELL were married on 17 October 1792.¹⁹⁵ Ruth RUSSELL¹⁹⁵ died on 11 November 1853.¹⁹⁵ Will of Ruth proved Dec 27 1853 makes bequests to sons, Matthew C., William B., and Anna Mary Smart; and to daughter-in-law Minerva Comstock.

Matthew COMSTOCK and Ruth RUSSELL had the following children:

467	i.	Thomas COMSTOCK was born on 8 February 1794.195 He died on 10 November 1813 at the age of 19.195
468	ii.	Job Scott COMSTOCK was born on 12 February 1796.195 He died on 15 January 1830 at the age of 33.195
469	iii.	Edith COMSTOCK was born on 18 March 1798.195 She died on 15 February 1816 at the age of 17.195
470	iv.	Russell COMSTOCK196 was born on 29 June 1800.195 Married Eliza C. Fowler. Russell was a self-proclaimed terra-culturist who lectured throughout New York about his discovery of a natural law in vegetable growth and life. He explained his principles which he did not put in print and which could not be patented or copyrighted. He claimed to have discovered the means of doubling crops and extending the life of fruit trees, etc.
471	v.	William COMSTOCK was born on 22 February 1803.195 He died on 10 June 1816 at the age of 13.195 Died of hydrophobia.
472	vi.	Phebe Anna COMSTOCK was born on 23 February 1805.195 She died on 27 February 1870 at the age of 65.195
