William's Missouri Death Certificate, #39480, states that he died in the Kansas City General Hospital of bronchial Asthma [No doubt from mining coal & working in a rock quarry with all the dust!]. He is listed as divorced although his wife Bessie did not marry again until 1940. He wa born 9 Nov 1874 in Jewel Co, Kansas. His father was Henry Comstock, b. Virginia and his mother Mary Elizabeth Burton, born Virginia.. The data seems to have been given by hospital personnel. The body was taken to Lexington MO for burial.

William James COMSTOCK and Ethel Bessie BRYAN were married on 10 November 1899 in Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri. Ethel Bessie BRYAN was born on 30 October 1884 in Nebraska. She died on 25 November 1945 at the age of 61 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.

Ethel was the daughter of David Bryan and Elizabeth Burton.

William Comstock's death certificate in 1935, says that he was divorced, although they were living together in 1930.
Bessie married a second time to James David Connor, 27 Jul 1940, Clay Co, MO.

Bessie Conners' Missouri Death Certificate, #36118 shows that she died at the Research Hospital in Kansas City after a week's stay. She had carcinoma of the stomach with metastasis.. She was marrried to James Conners at the time. She was born Oct 30, 1884 in Nebraska and died on 25 Nov 1945. Her father was David Bryant; her mother Mary Elizabeth Griffith. The body was removed to Lexington, MO for burial.

William James COMSTOCK and Ethel Bessie BRYAN had the following children:



Irena COMSTOCK was born in March 1900 in Lafayette County, Missouri. She died before 1910 at the age of 10.



Elmer COMSTOCK was born in 1902 in Lafayette County, Missouri.

Married Blanche Mansell, 4 Mar 1922, Lafayette Co MO. Online databases give his death as 1963.



Ethel COMSTOCK was born in 1905 in Lafayette County, Missouri.

Ethel appeared to have been called "Betty" in 1910. Her name as given in an online database was Ethel Lovetta and she was born 27 Oct 1905. Ethel married Jay Leonard Jennings, 13 Dec 1922, Lafayette Co, MO. She died in 1973.
