Peter Twist is the alias that Lyndon M. Comstock used when he enlisted in the Canadian army in 1918. He married my grandmother under that name. He kept using it after the war ended, he is in the 1920 census under that name, so he was still using it when he was back in the U.S. My aunt Mary was born under the name Twist. It was passed off as just something that he did so he could enlist in the Canadian army because the American army wouldn't take him since he was too old. I think there's more to it. Indeed, I'm quite suspicious that he never divorced Carrie Kent, and that she was still alive when he married my grandmother. That would be quite a good sized skeleton to tumble out of the closet if that turns out to have been the case.
