Seventh Generation

672. William COMSTOCK261 was born in 1761 in Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.218 He served in the military in 1812 at Maj., later a General in War of 1812. He died on 16 December 1833 at the age of 72 in Walcott Town, New York.218

Comstock book says William was born abt 1761, but then says he died in 1833 at age 63 which would be a birth year of 1770.

Comstock book lists 3 wives for this William Comstock, 1st (unk); 2nd Frinda Hawkins of Winchester, NH, dau of Judge Daniel Hawkins; 3rd Fanny Bibins/Biven. Lists his children as being of 1st wife but then cites the Will of Daniel Hawkins in 1823 as bequeathing to the heirs of Frinda Comstock. Frinday & William Comstock were married 11 Mar 1804; only the oldest son seems to have been born before this date. Frinda Hawkins Comstock died prior to 1823 - it's possible the remaining children were hers and there were no children by the 3rd wife.. Actually the article about Will Comstock, Indian Scout, by Gray states that there were 5 children by Frieda Hawkins, two more sons by Fannie Bivens.
William was a Major in the War of 1812 and later made General.

Frieda HAWKINS (private).

William COMSTOCK and Frieda HAWKINS had the following children:

William COMSTOCK261 was born on 21 March 1801 in Laurens, Otsego County, New York.261 He died on 23 July 1877 at the age of 76 in Laurens, Otsego County, New York.261

Married Maria Bostwick 22 Feb 1827.

Rosepha Ann COMSTOCK was born on 2 November 1804 in Laurens, Otsego County, New York.261

Her name is spelled Rocepha in the John A. Comstock which, according to a descendant, was incorrect.

Date of marriage of Frinda Hawkins & William Comstock as Mar 1804 would indicate this child is the 1st born of that union. She married Dr. James Tripp.

The Tripps must have gone to Whitewater, Wisconsin. I have been given to understand more about this family can be found in the books, Annals of Whitewater, Wisconsin and History of Walworth County, Wisconsin. Also History of the Town of Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, from its first settlement to 1882 is said to have mention of the Comstocks, but spelled as Cumstock.

Mary Ann COMSTOCK was born about 1805.262 She died on 14 November 1851 at the age of 46 in New York City, New York.261

Horace Hawkins COMSTOCK.

William COMSTOCK and Fannie BIVENS were married. Fannie BIVENS262 was born (date unknown).

William COMSTOCK and Fannie BIVENS had the following children:

Manville COMSTOCK261 was born about 1823.262 Said to reside in Red Wing. I'm assuming this is a male.
