Mrs. Sarah Davidson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. G. Goosetree, in Wheaton, Tuesday night, Dec. 19. She had been in poor health for several months. Deceased was 72 years, 7 months and 7 days old. She leaves ten children, five boys and five girls, and a large number of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure. The children are as follows: Roscoe Davidson, Mrs. J. T. Sampson [Fannie], Mrs. J. A. Hendon [Rebecca] and Mrs. O. O. Hill of Rocky Comford, and T.O., Oscar, Mon and Lon Davidson and Mrs. H. G. Goosetree [Myrtle] and Mrs. P. E. Daniels of Wheaton. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort Wednesday aftermoon, conducted by Rev. E. C. Tiebenor. Interment made in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery.
Sarah Frances BROWN and John DAVIDSON were married on 2 January 1868.49 John DAVIDSON, son of Levi DAVIDSON and Sarah LAMBERSON, was born on 23 February 1842 in Perry County, Tennessee.108,109,110 He died on 26 March 1912 at the age of 70 in McDonald County, Missouri.111 From Goodspeed: McDonald County "Biographical Appendix" p.107. John Davidson was born in Perry County Tenn. on Feb 23 1849 [this is an error- he was eight years old in 1850] and is a son of Levi Davidson, deceased. John Davidson came to McDonald County Mo. in 1853. During the late war he served in the Confederate army, as a member of Company D, Col. Smith's regiment, and participated in the battles of Prairie Grove, Pea Ridge, Helena, Prairie de Hand, Marks Mill, Poison Springs, and others. His wife was Sarah Brown, a daughter of Murphy Brown (deceased). They were married in December 1867, and are the parents of ten children, viz.: Fannie J., Ozro, Josephine, Alonzo, Monroe, Rosco, Oscar, Mollie and Myrtle (twins) and Lola. Mr. Davidson is a farmer and stock raiser, and is the owner of 173 acres of land, upon which he has a good home. He is a member of the Farmers' Alliance and Masonic Order.
