Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" JONES was born in 1827 in Missouri.31 She died about 1886 at the age of 59.31 Elizabeth is said to have first married John O'Donald. The Newton Co MO 1850 Census, Benton Twp, p.347, Dwelling 349 does have: Two housholds away is William Odonnell, age 55, Clergyman, born in VA; Mary, age 58, b. NC and Wesley age 14, born Ia. [Probably Indiana, not Iowa, in this time frame] I would think William would be a likely candidate for the father of John. In 1860 John C. Dabbs & Elizabeth have with them their children George, Malinda and James, and four Odonell children: Mary J. 12, William 10, John 9, and Pheby 8. 1880, the Dabbs were still in Franklin Twp, Newton Co. Malinda and James were still at home plus Margaret, Jasper, Sarah and Calvin. Said to be buried in Jones Cemetery on Oliver Jones' original property. Graves are unmarked.
