By 1820, George Brooks lived in Stokes Co NC - Forsyth formed from Stokes in 1849 making him a resident of the new county. George Brooks & Wife Elizabeth of Stokes Co NC to Obadiah Nunally of Caswell Co NC, 25 Jun 1820, tract of 206 acres in Caswell on waters of Hogan's Creek. Caswell DB V, p.109. This is the tract left Elizabeth by her grandfather John Hudnall, who had purchased it from Joseph Arnett.

George's brother Henry is said to have moved from Caswell Co about the same time. They engaged in several land deeds and Henry acted as his agent.

Eliza R., age 63 and Daniel I. age 28, the only child still living at home. Son Charles listed next in the Census, but in his own household.

George BROOKS and Elizabeth Ridings COURTS were married on 23 November 1818 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.109 Marriage date give is date of marriage bond. Elizabeth Ridings COURTS109,112,113, daughter of George COURTS and Hannah HUDNALL, was born on 30 October 1792 in Culpeper County, Virginia. She died on 1 March 1871 at the age of 78 in Forsyth County, North Carolina. From Mom's records - then family search info added. All info checked against records at Stan's house.
