Although John N. Adamson stated in his pension report that his brother Spencer E. had died at Miliken's Bend LA on 6 Apr 1863, the actual Battle of Miliken's Bend was fought on the 7th of June in 1863 - the battle was part of the campaign against Vicksburg, MS.
