77. Jonathan P. ADAMSON20,45 was born on 16 December 1818 in Economy, Wayne County, Indiana.1,45 He died on 17 June 1890 at the age of 71 in Delaware County, Indiana.1

Until Jonathan was 45 years old, he lived on his native farm in Wayne Co IN. He sold that farm about 1 May 1865 and moved to Muncie, Delaware Co and engaged in mercantile, first in the grocery business with his nephew B. R. Adamson as a partner. Later he changed to dry goods with Mr. Hammer as a partner. Other partners were James N. Cropper and Riley Jones. Jonathan sold out two weeks before his death. In 1862 he was baptized and united with the church in Jacksonburg, Wayne Co and after moving to Muncie, he and his wife helped organized the First Christian Church in which he was an elder. For 9 years he was a justice of the peace in Wayne Co. Jonathan and Emily had no issue, although they reared two girls and one boy - Lucinda Hammer, John Adamson, a nephew who fell in the defense of the Union, and Nettie Adamson.

Lee, Mr. Adamson came to Muncie ...engaged in mercantile trade, going first into the grocery business, having for his partner his nephew, B. R. Adamson; he then changed to the dry goods trade, with Mr. Hammer for his partner
....1862 that he was baptized ...In that year he united with the church in Jacksonburg, Wayne Co, and on coming to Muncie, he and wife became prime movers in organizing the First Christian Church, in which he at once became an elder and faithfully filled the position until the end.

Jonathan P. ADAMSON and Emily MACY were married on 22 November 1838 in Wayne County, Indiana.33 Emily MACY, daughter of Reuben MACY and Lucinda PETTY, was born on 28 August 1822 in Wayne County, Indiana.45 She died on 24 November 1911 at the age of 89 in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.

Emily was the daughter of Reuben Macy and Lucinda Petty.
