OF SUFFIELD. of sd Mixer and Trumble in such manner as we Did Judge most accommodating to Travelling, and having Sum Respect to the priviledge of ye persons Requesting of it. We began first, at the Southerly end of said way, and first fixed a stake and stone on ye East side by Deacon Mixers fence, about Two Rods North of ye, Ditch formerly made between Eastmans and Cakebreads Lots, so fixing ye Bounds of sd way only on the East side, we set stakes and by Three several Apple Trees of Deacon Mixers winding or turning Eastwardly towards the Great River, and from the Third Apple Tree we Turned our course more Northeasterly Runing about four foot off from sd Mixers new Dwelling House, Leaving it east of sd course: So a straight course five Rods, from ye North, or Norwest course of sd House, we fixed a stake and stone, so we keept a straight course to the Dividing fence betwixt sd Mixer and Trumble, on the Brow of ye Hill where we fixt a stake & stone; from thence we kept a straight course on or near the Brow of ye Hill through ye sd Trumbles Land (Still Leaving the Highway on the west side) till we come to his new House where we fix'd a Stake & Stone four Rods Eastward of sd fence or House partly Down ye Hill. Then extending Northwardly to a course or Row of Apple Trees in sd Trumbles Orchard, We Determined sd Row of Apple Trees to be the Fast Bound of sd way till we came to, or near the North side of his sd Trumbles Orchard where we fix'd a stake and stone a little west of an apple Tree. All ye Bounds above sd Setting out ye cast side of sd way, and the width of the way to Extend four Rods from the Sd Bounds.Entred Jan ye 8th, 1728.-9. John Burbank, John Pengilley Junr Committee. Att an Anniversary Town meeting of the freeholders and other Inhabitants of ye Town of Suffield on Munday the Tenth day of March 1728-9, to make choice of Necessary Town officers for the year Insuing; and other Concerns of a Publick nature; Capt Joseph Winchel was chosen Moderatour to order sd meeting. Select Men, Peter Roe, Joseph Winchel, John Austin, Joseph King, and Joseph Remington. Town Clerk, John Austin, Assessors, Joseph Winchel, John Austin, & Joseph King. Constable, Edward Foster, and Samuel Hathaway. Tythiny Men, Ensign Anthony Austin, Ichabod Smith, Joseph Harmon Junr. and Samuel Sikes. Samuel Kent ye 3d, and John Pengilley, were Chosen Collectors to collect Rate for Repairing Highwaies and Bridges; (& Sworn.) Town Treasurer, John Burbank, Joshua Leavitt, Sizer and Sealer of Weights & Measures. Joseph Winchel, Land Measurer. Samll. Sikes. Sealer of Leather. Fence Viewer, Daniel Adams, Samuel Granger ye 1st, Samuel Kent ye 2d, Benjamin Gillet, John Warner Senr, Serj James King. Hogg Reeves, Ebenezer Nash, arid Samuel Hale. By a clear vote, Edward Foster was accepted off to serve as Constable in the Room of Samuel Hathaway. Joseph Fuller chosen constable by his own consent & sworn.
