We esteem ye fore seat in ye Gallery to be equall with ye 3d seat below. 4thly we esteem ye fore flank seat in ye gallery next ye pulpit equall with the 5th, seat below. 5thy, We esteem ye fore flank Seat, next ye stairs; to be equall wth ye 6th below. 6th, We esteem ye 2nd seat in ye front gallery as a 9th seat. 7th ye 2nd flank seat in ye Gallery, next ye pulpit; as tenth seat. 8th, we esteem ye 2d seat in ye side Gallery, next ye stairs; as an eleventh seat. At a Lega11 Town Meeting, March the first, 1710/11: It was agreed, and voted: by a clear (vote) of the Town; that they would be at ye charge of a law suit with * Eleazer Gaylord, for ye money due to the Town by a hill, by him given to ye Select Men for his Trespass: only the men hereafter named, entred their decents against said vote. Jacob Adams, Deacon Hanchet, Benoni Banes, & John Stockwell. 2nd. It was agreed, and voted: by a full, and clear vote, to allow thirty shillings in pay, for defraying ye charge of running the south line of our Township: when run by the Committee, appointed by ye General Court for that purpose. 3d. It was agreed, and voted: That ye Select Men should lay out a ¥ Highway of four rods wide, from ye Grangers field, to Muddy Brook by ye falls; and so out westward threw the Township, where they shall think best considering all circumstances. 4thly, Also: that ye Select Men should lay out the ¥¥ Highway that goes over by Nortons Bridge, out norward to Springfield Bounds four rods wide; where it may be most Convenient Considering all circumstances. March the 12th, 1710/11: Being a Great, and Generall Town Meeting for ye choice of Town Officers, and ordering things of a Generall concern, Choice was made of ye several persons hereaft ter named, to their respective places of Trust. The laying-out of this road will be found under date of Feb. 27, 1726/7. The Falls are at the bridge west of " Hastings Hill." ¥¥ In 1705 a highway had been laid from Norton's bridge to the foot of Long Hill (now Hastings Hill), along the old Hampton path. This vote ordered its continuation to the present State line.
