LOUIS BENJAMIN RAYNOR

1917 - 1999

     LOUIS BENJAMIN RAYNOR, 82, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Leelanau Memorial Health Center.  Born March 4, 1917, in West Hampton, Long Island, NY, he was the son of Fletcher William and Louise (BENJAMIN) RAYNOR.

     He was a direct descendant of Thurston RAYNOR.

     One August 12, 1959, in East Lansing, he married Sherry NEVANS.

     Louis was a retired Michigan State University professor of ceramics.  He was a longtime South Manitou Island landowner and resident who became a full-time resident of Leland upon his retirement in 1979.

     He is survived by his wife; children, Ramon L. RAYNOR, Fletcher M. RAYNOR, Ebba S. RAYNOR, Nells E. RAYNOR, Beatrice FURMANN, Mrs. Robert STORRER (Sandra) and Chris MACEY; brother, Marvin RAYNOR; sister, Louise RAYNOR; and eight grandchildren, Benjamin RAYNOR, Darcie RAYNOR, Ashley RAYNOR, Heather RAYNOR, Brock RAYNOR, Brandon STORRER, Heather ROGERS and Jennifer ROGERS.
