Trisha's Bran Muffins

1 15 ounce box of Raisin Bran cereal
1 quart buttermilk
5 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
5 cups all purpose flour
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup oil
4 eggs

Sift flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Mix oil, buttermilk, and eggs; then add to the dry ingredients. Fold in the cereal. Refrigerate overnight. In the morning, stir the batter to break apart and mix in the cereal flakes. Spoon into lined muffin tins and bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. You can bake as many or as few as you wish at a time because the batter can be stored in the refrigerator up to 6 weeks. Makes six dozen muffins.
