Sausage & Cheese Strata

2 slices of bread, cubed
1 lb. of sausage, cooked and drained
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Grease a 13 by 9 inch casserole dish. Spread the bread cubes in the bottom of the dish. Layer over the bread: first the sausage, then the cheese. In a small bowl, combine the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and dry mustard. Mix well. Pour evenly over top of the cheese. Cover and chill overnight. In the morning, preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Make 8 to 12 servings.
