Baked Cheddar Tomatoes

5 medium tomatoes, cut in half crosswise
Olive Oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
I cup soft breadcrumbs
l cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
I teaspoon dried whole basil
1/2 teaspoon red pepper

Brush cut surface of tomato halves with olive oil; sprinkle with salt. Place tomato halves in a 13 by 9 inch baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Spoon over cut surface of tomatoes. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until tomatoes are thoroughly heated and cheese melts. Makes 10 servings.
