Wattamundara Death Mr Walter Hodder
A dark shadow was thrown over our township on Tuesday morning when it became known that Mr Walter Hodder one of our best known and respected residents had died the previous night, having succumbed to an infection of the heart from which the late Mr Hodder had been a sufferer for years.
The deceased, on the day of his demise was moving about as usual and gradually became worse. Word was sent to Cowra and medical aid summoned. Upon arrival of the doctor everything possible was done but the deceased was beyond the pain of human skill and he passed away peacefully at 11.30 pm leaving behind a sorrowing wife and grown up family of three sons and two daughters to morn his sad loss and to whom the sympathy of our towns people is extended in their hour of trial and trouble.
The funeral was to the Church of England portion of the Cowra cemetery on wednesday morning. Parents: George HODDER II and Isabella KIRKWOOD.

After an illness of eighteen months the death took place at the Cowra District Hospital on Friday last of Mr william Hodder, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Broula, at the age of 79 years. The cause of death being diabetes. the deceased was admitted to Hospital only 24 hours prior to his passing.
Born in Kelso, near Bathurst, the late Mr Hodder was the son of the late Mr and Mrs George Hodder, his mother's maiden name being Miss Isabella Kirkwood.
When only six years old he came to Cowra with his parents and resided continuosly in the district ever since.
He married at Cowra to Miss Annie Garman. A daughter and son pre-deceased him. There are also 33 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
For many years the late Mr Hodder was a slaughterman in the employ of the late Mr john Moore.but 35 years ago he went to reside at Broula, which was his home at the time of his demise.
The funeral took place to the Church of England cemetary on Saturday. Parents: George HODDER II and Isabella KIRKWOOD.
