Moved to Mobile July 23 and duty there till September. Mustered out
September 5, 1865.
Regiment lost during service 6 Officers and 80 Enlisted men killed and
mortally wounded and 4 Officers and 253 Enlisted men by disease. Total 373.
If he was hospitalized at Old Town Landing , then the battle where he was
mortally wounded was probably Totten's Plantation in Coahoma County,
Mississippi, a skirmish which occurred on August 2, 1862. An earlier battle
was called Hill's Planatation, Cache River, July 7, 1862, which might als
have landed him at Old Town.
