Newton Buster Murphy was born 10 June 1893 at Martin's Mills, Wayne County, Tennessee and died 27 February 1967 in Pemiscot County, Missouri. He was the son of William Murphy and Eliza Jane Atkinson. He was married on 6 May 1917 in Wayne County, Tennessee to Meda Pipes. He second married Delphia Brewer.
