Vol. 5: 4 May 1810. Joseph CRENSHAW says on 28 March 1810, Thrasher McCOLLUM obtained a judgment against him for $24 and the cost of the suit. He said judgment was unjustly rendered and that he is not indebted to said Thasher McCOLLUM.
Vol. 5: James GRAY, cabinetmaker, on 25 June 1819, stole 2 bank notes of $5 each, both issued by the Nashville Bank and payable one at Murfreesboro and the other at Shelbyville -- the property of James J. CRENSHAW.
Vol. 5: James CRENSHAW made oath that his house was broken into on the night of 25 June 1819 and about $50 taken. He has good reason to believe James GRAY, house carpenter, was the guilty person.
Vol. 6: April 1819. Joseph CRENSHAW, adm. of the estate of John CRENSHAW decd. Settlement.
Vol. 2: Aug. 1823. Cornelius CRENSHAW vs William ANTHONY. Case involved disputed title to negroes and land sold in Lunenberg County, Virginia. MB: Daniel CRENSHAW and Nancy JENNINGS 11 June 1789, Lunenberg. Parents of Mary, m Pettus SHELBURN, and Cornelius. In Virginia, 1812, Richard HERRING bought 5 negroes and tract of land from Daniel CRENSHAW. Nancy refused to convey her dower right to land, and HERRING conveyed 2 slaves for her to Cornelius CRENSHAW. Daniel and Nancy moved to Williamson County, Tennessee ca 1814. Brought 4 slaves. Pettus SHELBURN said Daniel sometimes drunk and violent to wife. (From Rev. War pension appl. of Nancy JENNINGS CRENSHAW: Nancy born 1785, m Daniel CRENSHAW, 2 July 1789, Lunenberg. Filed May 1818-Aug. 1820. 1808, Joseph CRENSHAW came from Virginia to work on house being built by Kemp HOLLAND. Joseph to live on Lick Creek. Joseph's brothers James and John and Bil Sherwood MILLS came from Virginia and lived in neighborhood. Joseph and John left and James and MILLS finished the work. 1816 and 1817, Williamson County, James and Joseph summoned to court, could not be found. 1818, James and Joseph summoned to court in Maury County, Tennessee. James stated was living in Madison County, Mississippi since ca 1815. (Madison County, Mississippi not estab. until 1828; probably Madison County, Mississippi Territory. Madison County, Alabama estab. 1808 in Mississippi Territory until Alabama became state, 1819.)
