Last Will, Dated 17 October 1880

Know all men by these presents that I Anna Brown do this day bequeath my goods & chattels and money to my children to be divided as followes to wit:

William Brown my son I give my little gun and not have any more than he has already received. John Brown my other son I give him my bed & bed clothes and little kettle. Sallie Wilson my daughter I give her my clothing big wash pot and other cooking vessels & cheok reel. Elizabeth Walker my other daughter I give her my little flax wheel. All of the above articles I give at my death and if there is any money in J.B. Cypert's hand after I am buried decently and all debts contracted by him for my benefit paid and the remainder to be divided equally among my said children; and I request C.M. Thompson and Joshua Paulk to settle with J.B. Cypert and to see that he is well paid for his trouble. and just account against my estate I don't charge him any interest on what money that is now in or has heretofore come into his hands; I also want him "J.B. Cypert" to sell and divide out among them or if the lands is to be sold; him to administor on my estate according to law.

This is my last will and testament. I hereto affix my mark to my signature or name. This the 17th day of Oct 1880.

We the under signers do hereby certify as if upon oath that we were present and saw her, Annie Brown, make her mark to her signature to her will on the 17th day of October 1880 which is above attached to this certificate and also in addition to her writen will she verbily wills Sarah Wilson her cow and calf.
this March the 18th 1881.

This day came E.M. Stanfield into open court and being duly sworn before me says that the said Sarah Wilson, Elisa Rose, Margaret Wilson the subcribing witnesses to the fore going last will and testament of Anna Brown and acknowledge her signature to the above certificate to be their --- and ---- and that they witnessed said will at the request of said Anna Brown and that she signed said will in their presents and knowledge the sworn to her --- and -----

J.B. Cypert, Executor of Anna Brown, Dec'd.

Whereas it appears to the court here that Anna Brown late of said county is dead, and hath made her last will and testament in writing, in which she hath appointed J.B. Cypert, Executor to the same. Which will hath been exhibited in court and proved as the law directs.

It is therefore ordered by the said court, that Letters Testamentary of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of the said Anna Brown dec'd. issue to the said J.B. Cypert having been qualified according to law. These are therefore to enpower you the said J.B. Cypert to enter into and upon all and singular the goods and chattles rights and credits of said Anna Brown dec'd. and the same in your possession take wheresoever the same may be found, and a true and perfect inventory there of to make, and return to our ensuing County Court, and all just debts of the said Anna Brown dec'd. to pay; and also will and truly pay and deliver all the legacies contained and specified in said Testament, as far as the said goods, chattels and credits will there to intend and the law charge you.
