the first bar exam given by the State of Oklahoma and was admitted to the
bar. Specializing in Osage laws and treaties, "G.K." became well
acquainted with the Indians and the agency officials, learned to communicate
with the Indians and was trusted by them. Had 2 children by Margaret
Ellen. After her death he married on 5 May 1942 in Oklahoma City

In 1890, he borrowed money from his Aunt Nicey Colley (E-504) in order
to attend Prof Remines' school at Dorton, Kentucky, for four months. "Noah
'Shanks' Counts (E-681), Pros Sutherland (F-794) and I traveled by way
of Dog Branch, Clintwood, Osborn gap (passed the old man Swindall's home)
and down Shelby Creek, walking every step of the way - forty miles - and
taking every 'nigh cut' along riding paths and through laurel patches."
They paid Prof remines $4 for board and $3.50 for tuition each month.
He taught the Rock Lick School two terms, 1896 and 1897. As their
family grew to maturity, their home on Zeke's Branch of Lick creek was
a favorite gathering place for young people to play and dance folk games.
Ruth recalled that no invitations were needed as her mother's philosophy
was "Let them have fun while they're young". In 1963 they moved to

Magdeline was born 24 Mar 1885. Magdeline was the daughter of Noah
Webster Rasnick and Virginia Maryland Counts. Magdeline died Aug
1906 at 21 years of age. She had 4 children, all died young.

24 Mar 1881. Virginia was the daughter of Soloman Mullins and Amanda
Reedy. Virginia died 7 Mar 1912 at 30 years of age. They lived
at Nora. He was a farmer and apple grower; liked to read and debate;
sang bass; played the fiddle and banjo. James Morgan and his third
wife Eliza Jane Smith are buried in the family cemetery.

1892, but married Chloe on 6 Feb 1901. Needs some clarification.
After Charles death she married Pink Collis, lived on Dog Branch, Dickenson
County, Virginia. She and Pink had no children. Counts F-250,
