Elijah died 3 July 1925 at 91 years of age. They were married by Minister Andrew A. Kiser. They lived on Sandlick Ridge of Dumps Creek and on the Clinch River about a mile below Carbo. During the Civil War he served in Capt. Dick Hager's Company of Confederates.

Noah was born 5 September 1842. Noah was the son of Ephriam Kiser and Mary Polly Sutherland. Noah died 31 December 1886 at 44 years of age. He was a farmer and a miller near Carbo. He served in the Confederate Army under Captain Charles Carter. Both Noah and his wife were members of the Baptist Church.

She married ZACHARY TAYLOR SUTHERLAND Sr.. (Zachary Taylor Sutherland Sr. is #7140.) Zachary was the son of Henry Sutherland Jr and Margaret Counts. He married LUCY COMPTON. He lived at Cleveland, Va; moved to Bucu. He was a farmer and miller. When the Bucu Post Office was established on 13 Nov 1883, Malissa was appointed postmistress.

He married PHOEBE SMITH. (Phoebe Smith is #8577.) Phoebe was born 1850. Phoebe was the daughter of Joshua Smith and Sarah "Sallie" Sutherland. Phoebe died 12 Oct 1918 at 68 years of age. They lived on a farm near Clinchfield, Russell County, Virginia. Note: their children took the name Smith.
