Keyser, Charles1) (#5769) was born in Russell Co, Va 6 Jul 1793.
Mary died 1860 at 66 years of age.
She married twice. She married
VINCENT POWELL 23 May 1813. (Vincent Powell is #5770.) Vincent
was born 28 Feb 1788. Vincent was the son of Joseph Powell and Nancy.
Vincent died 27 Sep 1829 at 41 years of age. Vincent Powell owned
eleven hundred acres of Ohio River land, situated along the Ohio River,
just down river from Russell, Ky. After his death it was purchased
by his son-in-law, Henry Armstead Mead, from his heirs. It is now
(1933) covered by the yards of the CSX yards (Chesapeake and Ohio Railway
Company). Vincent Powell's grave was moved to Ashland Cemetery (Ashland,
Kentucky) sometime after 1870, probably by his children. There is a newer
stone there in Ashland Cemetery, with the Powell(s) marked MARY POWELL.
This might be their daughter's.
Vincent and Mary had 7 children. (source:
Family bible Record).
She married HENRY HAYS in Greenup Co,
Ky, 8 Jan 1835. (Henry Hays is #5771.) Henry was born 12 May
1776. Henry died 9 May 1861 in Cannonsburg, Boyd Co, Ky, at 84 years
of age. He died at the home of W. L. Geiger in Cannonsburg. They
lived on Pond Run. No children were born of this second marriage.
Mary's will was probated in Greenup,
Greenup Co, Ky, Jul 1861. Mary Kelly Powell Hay's tombstone was found
in April of 1994 in Ashland, KY, in a lot at the corner of 22nd Street
and Montgomery Avenue, where a house was being razed to make way for parking
at King's Daughters' Medical Center. It had originally been found
about 5 years earlier on Bath Avenue and had apparently been used as part
of a walkway. It was moved to the Montgomery Avenue lot by Mike Light,
whose Light's Enterprises was tearing down another property (on Bath Avenue)
for the hospital, to keep it from being broken or hauled away. King's
Daughters' Hospital is holding in safekeeping the stone until administrators
there determine what to do with it.

of age. He married SARAH J. RAINES 5 Apr 1857. (Sarah
J. Raines is #11104.) Sarah was born in Illinois about 1839.
Sarah died 1 Oct 1864 at 25 years of age. She apparently died in
childbirth delivering Mary. Mary died 24 days later. Sarah is buried
in the Bluegrass Cemetery, Clark County, Illinois.
He married NANCY A. HORNER
1 Apr 1867. (Nancy A. Horner is #11105.) Nancy was born 17
Dec 1840. Nancy died 27 May 1896 in Clark Co, Il, at 55 years of
age. She is buried in the Bluegrass Cemetery, Clark County, Illinois.
He was Associate Judge; Sheriff; and twice County Treasurer; 20 years as
a justice of the peace; and was Second Lieutenant in the Mexican War.
He is buried in the Bluegrass Cemetery, Clark County, Illinois. He
had 21 children in all between his 3 marriages. There were other
children, not listed, who died in infancy. No specific information
is known on the infants.

for a while. He is shown in the Clark Co, Il census at the age of 20, with
the family of John H. Adams. After Colorado, he came back to Missouri and
stayed with his Uncle Harmon Hurst for a while. He came back to Illinois
once. He died in Missouri and is buried in a grave yard at or near
Weston."

1884 at 86 years of age.
She married GEORGE TRUMBO Jr. 20 Jun
1818. (George Trumbo Jr. is #5746.) George was born 1 Jan 1779.
George was the son of George Trumbo Sr.. George died 9 Mar 1860 at
81 years of age. The following information concerns George Trumbo's
father.
George Trumbo, Sr. was a brother of Jacob
Trumbo, whose sister married Mathias Rhinehart. George Trumbo went
from Rockingham County, VA to Pendleton County about 1777. He located
a few miles below Fort Seybert and became a large landowner and his industry
and thrift made him a wealthy man. He had ten children, eight boys
and two girls. Four of his boys went west and the other children
remained at home. He divided the home property among the children
who stayed at home and gave cash to the other four. The oldest child,
Ephriam, was one of the four who went west. (see Mead Relations, Charles
Keyser Urner letter, page 214)
