>>> HISTORY OF FAMILY CONNECTIONS <<<
The Postle(s) family (of English ancestry) paralleled the Clover family
(of German ancestry) in Franklin County, Ohio.
Henry Clover, Sr. (son of Philip Clover, Sr. of Virginia) and Shadrach
Postles (son of John Postles of Delaware) shared their respective homes
for the first Methodist faith meetings to be held in Franklin County,
Prairie Township, Ohio. Further, with the growth of the congregation --
each built log cabins on their own property. Whereby contiguous cemeteries
so named as the Clover Cemetery, located on Alton-Darby Creek Road,
Franklin Co., Galloway, Ohio and the Postle Cemetery at the Norton Road,
Franklin Co., Columbus, Ohio location, were utilized by church members,
family, friends, pioneers heading west and the various war casualties.
The cabins were used for schools during the week. Peter Clover, son of
Henry Clover, Sr. taught school in their cabin property as early as 1817
and son-in-law, Israel P. Brown taught at the Postles location
These highly respected families married, prayed together and some pioneer
descendents traveled west together.
>>> CLOVER and POSTLE CEMETERIES <<<
Due to the fact that many of the old historical cemerties are slowly being
destroyed by vandalism and/or land developers; both family books have a
detailed listing of everyone known to have been interred within the
confines of possible grave sights. The Clover Cemetery with 690 graves (7
Veterans identified) and the Postle Cemetery with 283 grave spaces -- 2 of
which are Shawnee Indians.

>>> POSTLE(S) BOOK REVIEW <<<
..."Numerous photographs bring the individuals to life, and lineage
charts, reproduced documents and maps are also helpful. Chapters are
devoted to the individual children of Shadrack, and the well-researched
story of the separate families is both readable and informative. This is
an excellent example of a well-written family history." Gerald Corley,
Orange Co., CA Gen. Society Quarterly, Vol.26, No. 3, Sept. 1989
