Born 12 April 1803 in Johnson Co, TN. I have been told her parents were William & Mary
ARNOLD, but have not found any proof. She married 10 December 1821/1822 at Laurel Creek,
Johnson Co, TN, Valentine WORLEY, Jr, b. 13 October 1801 in Wythe Co, VA. About 1831 they
moved to Putnam Co, IN, then Pike Co, IL, Davis Co, IA and abt 1865 moved to Jackson Co,
KS, where they lived until 1884 when they moved in with their son Michael Worley in
Wabaunsee Co, KS. They had 13 children. Elizabeth died there 24 Feb 1886 and Valentine

Researching Josiah ARNOLD, b. 1754/55 at Bath Co. VA, who served in the Virginia Line,
American Revolutionary War Veteran. He applied for his pension May 3, 1819 at Muhlenburg
Co. KY, age 65; In 1821 he has a wife, age 63; In 1829 he was in Pike Co. Indiana, so I
suspect this is where he died in 1837. Married Judith DAUGHERTY, b. 1758. Children: Allen;
Alfred C.; Amos; John E.; Isaac; (Reverend) Josiah; Benjamin, Melton and Joab Ray.

John E. ARNOLD, JR. married Lydia A. RICKARD. He was b. 1830 at Muhlenberg Co., KY and d.
1902 at Poplar Grove KY. They had a son, Alfred June ARNOLD, b. 5 June 1867. He married
Idella DAME, b. 27 April 1870 in McLean Co. KY.
Alfred June and Idella (DAME) ARNOLD had one child, William Otis ARNOLD, who was b. McLean
Co. KY; died Muhlenberg Co., KY in 1967 and buried in the Poplar Grove Cemetery at Poplar
Grove, McLean Co. KY.

(1)Phillip, Samuel, William, and George
died during the years of the Civil War, but I don't know if they served. David was
likewise old enough, but lived on after the war. In the 1920s Jacob returned from
Washington State (as I recall) and brought the family bible back to my great grandfather
Coonrod (Conrad), I presume because Jacob had no children (he was one of the uncles my
great-uncle Walter described by saying "they were rogues").
I've found two descendants of Susan (in my family known as "Aunt Susie McNITT")
via the Internet. Mary's married name was NOSTRANT and she and brother Eli lived in the
area of Conklin, Michigan, as did Susan (m. to John McNITT), Conrad, and their mother.
Samuel died in Seneca Co., Ohio.
Additional Information from the 1850 Census (p 183), Thompson Twnshp, Seneca Co.,
Ohio:
Samuel, age 48, birthplace Pennsylvania (birth in 1801 or 1803)
Nancy, age 29, birthplace given as Ohio (implies incorrect birth yr of 1821)

Notes on the census microfilm:
The townships were expected to be in alphabetical order, but none of the three rolls I
checked (1850 and 1860) were. The page number figures used by the brave souls who compiled
the indices sometimes used the page number written by the census taker, and sometimes used
the preprinted number.
In the 1870 or 1880 census for Chester Twnshp, Ottawa Co, Michigan, Nancy WESTENHAVER gave
her birthplace as Pennsylvania. One of my newly found cousins has a spelling of
WESTENHAFFER. The new cousin also is in pursuit of more information regarding one Phillip
ARNOLD, who lived in Wayne Co., Ohio, with a son Samuel, and a daughter who married a
WESTENHAFFER. This Phillip may be a candidate for Samuel's father.

Born 14 Sep 1784; d. 31 Mar 1853. Buried in Osolo Twp. Cemetery in Elkhart, Indiana.
Susannah was wife of my ggg grandfather, Francis GARDNER, b. 1 Jan 1776; d. 24 Apr 1853,
also buried in Osolo Cemetery. We are positive of the dates, but NOT positive Susannah's
surname was ARNOLD. The descendants of this couple moved on to NE Iowa, then to Nebraska

My data on my Arnold's comes from Footprints in Marion County (Ill) which
was comprised from a booklet "The Arnold Family - 1766 -1953" compiled
by Mr and Mrs Clyde Bassett:
"William ARNOLD, born 1766 in England, was a Methodist minister who emigrated from
England to South Carolina when a young man. ((From other sources, he may have married a
Cherokee Indian--but these are just "rumors")). He had six sons: Anderson,
Wesley, Johnathan, Asbury, Robert and Benjamin.
I. Anderson ARNOLD, born c. 1788, married Phoebe WARHURST. Issue: Martha, Jemima, Henry,
Hesteran, Nancy, Joseph, Archer, Thompson, James, Fletcher.
II. Wesley ARNOLD. No Record.
III. Jonathan ("Uncle Johnny") ARNOLD, born 19 Dec, 1793 in Lawrence (?Laurens?
as no Lawrence) Co. SC, died 1887 in Ellis, Co. Tex. Married Oct 1813 d 10/6/1867 in
Marion Co, Ill and buried in Sandy Branch Cemetery. They moved to Ill c 1808 and to Marion
