Formerly associated with her late sister (Miss Helen Edith Higgs Booker) - who died December last - for 44 years as a mistress of Gaunts School, Miss Susanna Matilda passed away at her residence at Grange on Monday night in her 88th year. Deceased had been in failing health for some time.

Miss Booker was remembered with affection by a host of friends, including old scholars whom she and her sister had taught during their long and honorable association with the day school at Gaunts, nearly a thousand children are estimated having passed through their hands. Miss Booker also shared with her sister the pleasure of working for various parochial institutions.

On the occasion of the Misses Booker's retirement they were the recipients of a framed illuminated address, expressive of the gratitude of managers, parents and children for the 44 years of unremitting care and love which the sisters had bestowed on them, accompanied by a purse of money which had been subscribed for by 168 persons (including 73 children).
