KENNETH MELVIN SANDERS, age 51, departed this life Friday December 15, 2000. With the exception of his 4-year tour in Germany during his enlistment in the United States Air Force, He spent most of his life in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he was born March 25,1949 to Joe M. and Laska (Roberts) Sanders. In July 1992, he married Nancy Herpeche Beam and they moved to Olden, Texas. He worked for G.E. Railcar in Ranger, Texas, until their closing and then became a Semi-Truck Driver. Kenneth was a devoted husband, stepfather and son. He was a kind, gentle man born years after his time. Kenneth took life at his own slow, quiet pace and wouldn't be bothered with modern ways. He will be dearly missed. He was employed by Skipjack Logistics of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was on his way to pick up a load in Washington state that would bring him home for Christmas, when tragedy struck and he left his earthly body behind to join the Lord. Though he is gone his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Nancy who is the daughter of Jean Hollis Pratt and Gaston Nathan Herpeche; his stepson Michael P. Russell, both of Olden, Texas; his mother, Laska R. Sanders of Cisco, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, nephews, in-laws and friends. A Memorial service, conducted by his Uncle: Rev. Robert Bolden of Gordonville, Texas, will be held Thursday December 21, 2000 at 3:00pm. The outside service will be at 505 E. 10th St., Cisco Texas. Any memorials should be directed to the home of Laska Sanders, 501 E. 8th St. where family and friends are invited to gather before and after the service.

YOUR PRAYERS ARE APPRECIATED.

I have collected much information on my families and am posting it in hopes of furthering my own research as well as helping others with theirs. While some facts are documented, most have been shared by other family researchers, and should be used as a guide. If you find information you know is incorrect, or if you can help fill in some of the missing lines, please contact me. Your help will be appreciated. I want to say thank you to my cousins, Janice Sanders Dias and R.S. Sanders, for their years of hard work establishing our family history.
