            Strohbeck

                BRIGHTON - Newell H. Strohbeck, 83, of Route 1, died at 10:04 a.m. Monday at St.
            Joseph Hospital, Alton, after a seven month illness.
                The Brighton Township native was the son of the late Theodore and Louella
            (Eddington) Strohbeck, and, for 28 years, was supervisor for Brighton Township.
            He was former secretary and treasurer for the Illinois County and Township Officials
            and the World War I veteran married the former Myrtle Schmidt on Aug 31, 1918.
            In addition to his wife, surviving are a daughter, Maxine Brueggemann of Alton; a
            son, Leo H. of Brighton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle
            Graul of Brighton; and two brothers, Dewey of Shipman and Kenneth of St. Louis.
            Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Warner-Targhetta Funeral
            Home in Brighton where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev.
            John Seibert officiating.
                Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery.
