Ralph Strohbeck
ALTON--Ralph Yates Strohbeck, 89, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday,
Sept. 16, 1990, at D'Adrian Convalescent Center in Godfrey.
He was a self-employed farmer.
Born in Brighton, he was the son of the late George and Amy
(Deck) Strohbeck.
His first wife, the former Amelia Kruemmelbein, died in 1936.
In 1943 he married the former Bernice Thompson, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Virgil Strohbeck of Alton; a daughter,
Lois Harrelson of Brighton; a stepdaughter, Aldyth Gail Summers of
Jerseyille; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Esther Boker of Alton.
Preceding him in death were two grandchildren; three brothers,
Theodore, Victor and Walter Strohbeck; and a sister, Edna Graul.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elias-Smith Funeral
Home in Alton, where services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The
Rev. Ross Doyel will officiate.
Burial is in Fosterburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the memorial fund of Zion Presbyterian
Church in Fosterburg, where he was a member.
