            Edith Strohbeck
                    dies at age 88

                M. Edith Strohbeck, 88, of Rural Route, Shipman, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 17
            at her residence.
                Born March 26, 1898 at Moberly, Mo., she was a daughter of the late William and
            Leonora Wood Elliott.  She was married Dec. 19, 1923 in Woodburn to George Dewey
            Strohbeck who preceded her in death March 24, 1985.
                She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Woodburn Congregational
            Church and a charter member of the Ingersoll Birthday Club.
                Surviving are one son, Donald D. Strohbeck of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Holly
            Zendijas and Richard Strohbeck; three sisters, Helen E. Lucker of Sun City, Az.,
            Lillian Elliot of Alton and Jessie Prestopic of Woodburn; a nephew and five nieces.
            Funeral services were held Friday from Jocoby-Wise Funeral Home, the Rev. LeRoy
            Fahnestock officiating.  Burial was in Woodburn Cemetery.
                Pallbearers were Charlie Bierman, Wayne Barnett, Howard Stampe, Russell Montgomery,
            Mike Ward and Jim Hudson.
