            Myrtle Strohbeck

            BRIGHTON - Myrtle M. Strohbeck, 95, died at 1:20 a.m. today, Jan. 25, 1988, at
            St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.
                 Born in Macoupin County, she was the daughter of the late Chris and Annie
            (Jones) Schmidt.
                 She married Newell Strohbeck on Aug. 31, 1918, in Fort Riley, Kan. He died
            Feb. 26, 1979.
                 Surviving are a daughter, Maxine Brueggemann of Alton; a son, Leo Strohbeck of
            Brighton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
            She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Schmidt; and a sister Eunice
            Proctor.
                 Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday with services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at
            Targhetta Funeral Home in Brighton.  The Revs. John Seibert and Dennis Boonstra will
            officiate.
                 Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery.
                 Memorials may be given to the Fosterburg Presbyterian Church or Fosterburg
            First Baptist Church.
