            Edna Mae Strohbeck
                    Dies at Age 70

                 Edna Mae Strohbeck, 70 of Rural Route, Brighton, died at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26
            at Alton Memorial Hospital.
                 Born March 31, 1912 in Hilyard Township, she was a daughter of Harry and Gladys
            Hackney Fite.  She was married Dec. 16, 1931 to Roy Strohbeck, who preceded her in
            death on May 7, 1972.  She was a lifelong resident of the Buner Hill-Brighton area.
            Surviving are three sons, Lloyd of Carlinville and Glenn and Roy Lee, both of
            Brighton; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Thelma Schoeneman,
            Verna Kahl and Esther Taggart of Shipman, Dorothy Strohbeck of Brighton and Merna Buhs
            of Bunker Hill; and one brother, John Fite of Shipman.
                 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday from Jacoby-Wise Funeral Home, Bunker
            Hill, the Rev. John Seibert officiating.  Burial was in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
                 The American Red Cross Blood Bank was named as a memorial.
