John S. Jones and Ann Lloyd were married in the Parish Church of Llanynys in Denbigh County (Denbyshire, Wales) on August 18, 1869.  They immigrated to America in 1872 and first settled near Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, where John worked as a coal miner.  In 1881 they moved to Wymore, Nebraska, where a Welsh settlement was being formed.  They had eight children:  Lizzie, Sarah, Maggie, John, Mary, Rob, Edythe and Lue.

John S. was born in September 1844 in Wales and died July 10, 1888 in Wymore after a short illness believed to be appendicitis.  Ann was born in Wales in 1842 and died in Wymore on August 28, 1926.
