Edythe was born April 16, 1885 in Wymore, Nebraska. She graduated from Wymore High School in 1904 and worked in Reuling's Jewelry Store where she met Francis (Frank) Guy Pennington, jeweler and optometrist. They married on April 27, 1910 and purchased the store which, for many years, became a meeting place for the whole Jones Family. Edythe and Frank had two children, Dorothy Jane Pennington Meyer and john Francis Pennington. In 1941 Edythe and Frank moved to Alhambra, California where he passed away June 26, 1944. On July 1, 1951 Edythe married Robert Franklin Kulp, a former Wymorean, and they lived in Pasadena, California until his death.
Always active in the Wymore Methodist Church, in May 1936 Edythe became the first woman delegate from Nebraska to the annual General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Columbus, Ohio. She also served for several years as Nebraska State Secretary for the Women's Home Missionary Society.
She was a member of Chapter Q, P.E.O., Wymore, and later of Chapter N, Alhambra, California and served both Chapters as President. She was also a member of Wymore's Violet Chapter No. 105, Eastern Star.
She died in Monrovia, California on December
10, 1974 and is buried in the Wymore Cemetery.
