Warren Quinn, Sr. (January 3, 1883-May 9, 1970), son of the founder of
the Adventist colony northeast of Santa Anna, bought land east of Coleman
and in later life moved into Coleman. He and his wife, Annie Pearl
(December 12, 1881-August 11, 1966) along with their daughter, Veda Pearl
(April 20, 1917-November 8, 1981), lived in two houses on Pecos Street
which were identical in appearance. About 1972, after her mother
and father had passed away, Veda Pearl gave her parents home to the church
and had the building converted into a chapel. She paid for upkeep
and other items for the church until her death, when her house was also
willed to the church. From the early 1970’s the Adventist sponsored
a used clothing center, which was located in two small storage buildings
behind the church. After Veda Pearl's death, the church was formally
organized in 1982 and the clothing center moved to her old home, now known
as the Adventist Community Center. A brother of Veda Pearl, J. W.,
Jr. and his wife, still live on the old Quinn land east of Coleman.
