Symond Stanfield
Symond Stanfield came here in 1634 with Adam Thoroughgood.
He settled first where the present day Thoroughgood house is; a national landmark! This area is located on the first inlet, as you enter the Chesapeake Bay; the bay is called Lynnhaven Bay. Inside Thoroughgood there is a street, Stanfield Lane, supposedly named after Symond Stanfield. I have seen this street. It is located across a small creek from the main Thoroughgood estate.
I found Symond's inventory in Essex County. It appears he died a very poor man and alone. I could find no trace of his family, or if he ever had one.
Lawrence Stanfield
Lawrence came to Northampton County, the Eastern Shore of Virginia, with Elizabeth and Ratchell Robins, orphans of Edward Robins, June 14th 1646. They received 350 acres in Northampton County.
Patent Book pp.91.
I haven't found any family for Lawrence either.
Robard Stanfield
I Found the inventory of his estate in Essex co,VA filed in Essex County Court 1696. He left an estate worth £760. Estate was appraised by Williams Dunns and Richard Taylor. There were no heirs listed, nor could I find a will.
Robard's name is spelled just as above on the inventory.
Ann Stanfield, daughter of Mary Stanfield
Essex County Court, Oct 11, 1697 Ann Stanfield by consent of her mother Mary Stanfield is bound to Richard Jones of same county. Richard Jones agrees to give Ann one year of schooling and to teach her to sew. I have found no more information on either of them.
Ebenezer Stanfield
Ebenezer first found, August the 7th, 1676 in Old Rappahanock County Deeds and Will Book 1677-1682, Part 11. I found where John Meador of Farnham Parish to Ebenezer Stanfield, Planter by patent, assigns to Ebenezer Stanfield and his heirs forever 320 acres of land. Ebenezer appears to be without wife as I found no mention of her, but he does have a daughter named Rebecca.
I have an indenture dated February 1679, between Ebenezer Stanfield and John Meador where John Meador sells 320 acres of land to Ebenezer Stanfield for the consideration of two brooding mares. Land that was patented by John Meador from William Beverly 1663.
Old Rappahanock County Deeds and Wills, pp.98-100
Ebenezer Stanfield in Apr. 1686 takes his servant John House to court where servant is judged to be twelve and ordered to serve his Master.
1688 Ebenezer Stanfield dies. Henry Pickett is paid on behalf of Ebenezer's daughter, Rebecca Stanfield, 5000 lbs of good sour tobacco.
The conditions being, that Rebecca keep all her fathers land and two heifers that graze upon her fathers plantation, plus their increase, also on her wedding day, or when she comes of age she will receive half of her fathers estate plus 1700 lbs of good tobacco. If this indenture be void, all to go to Rebecca Stanfield.
Order Book, pp.17-18

Henry Pickett shows up in court and gives his account of Ebenezer Stanfield's estate. He states that it now consists of one old cow. He said he knew no more of any estate, except the heifer which he had converted to his own use. He promised to pay Rebecca a new heifer when she wanted it.
